I think some of my fellow answerers are confusing depression with Clinical Depression. It is very hard to diagnose clinical depression in 2 days folks.

It seems to me that you are just facing the ordinary garden variety of depression - and that can be caused by diet, stress, menstruation - some even say that a full moon can make a person crazy or depressed (and today is the full moon with a full lunar eclipse!).

It is ok to be depressed for no reason. Sometimes our body just needs some down time and blue, low energy feelings help keep a body resting and ruminating often times.

If you are upset about this and want to get over it, I recommend some totally self indulgent pampering, some yoga or other form of exercise or even just some meditation. Everyone goes through this from time to time. If it seems to last for longer than a week or so, that would be the time to think about getting help, but I don't think that I what we are talking about here.

Peace!

Sure its OK.
Everybody gets depressed. When you have that feeling you need to make yourself happy think about things in your life that make you feel good.
Stress has allot to do will a depressed feeling, you have to look at a positive aspect of what is causing the stress like how good its going to feel when you have accomplished the task that's so stressful.
If you eat healthy and exercise that will help too.
If the depression gets too bad you should talk to a parent or your doctor there could be a chemical imbalance and the doc can treat you for that.
Now keep in mind that there is plenty of help out there for you if you can't shake the feeling.

Yours sound like the reactive type. You say you've been stressed lately, that could be the reason for your depression quite easily. You will get over this, but it may come and go. It is absolutely OK to be depressed for no reason, even though it seems that you do have a valid reason. School, a job, family life, even the rain can make you feel bad. It is a part of being alive, as long as you are still able to carry out daily tasks, you will get better.

From your description you have depression due to a chemical imbalance there is no way to fix this on your own. You need to start on a antidepressant. There are many out on the market. Your Doctor will help you decide. If you can't afford to see a physician you can visit your mental health center. They base your payment based on income. Also the older generic medications are cheaper and just as effective as the newer ones at a much lower price. Please see someone about this. Your life will improve so much. GOD BLESS YOU.

I was depressed and anxious so I went to a psychiatrist and when he heard my "problems" he said I had a chemical imbalance. If I fail to take my medication, I start worrying and find myself getting weepy.
