The American public hears about the ONE or TWO bombs that go off a day, but never about any of the accomplishments made by American and NATO forces. Dont get me wrong, one bomb against our troops is one bomb too many; but its WAR, one bomb a day is absolutely nothing compared to past American wars. But the media turns one or two bombs a day into that the US is loosing the war.
The US went in, took out Saddams military, took out Saddam, got major Al-Queda forces out of Iraq, recovered sarin and mustard gas from Iraqi fortifications, put in a democratic government, and gave the government a fighting force. If that is not victory, then what the Hell is?

Oh please. you forgot over 3,100 military lives that have been lost You forgot approximately 600,000 civilian lives having been lost. You forgot that after four years, NO ONE is "free" in Iraq, especially our troops!
Myth: we didn't 'take out' Saddam's military. Before the invasion and subsequent occupation, Rumsfield had already made "arrangements" with Saddam's Republican Guard that they would be disbanded. It was nothing that was hidden from the U.S. and most were aware of it.
Myth: Difficult to get "major al-quaeda forces" out of Iraq when they weren't there to begin with.
Myth" No recovery of "sarin and mustard gas". But use of unconventional weapons by the U.S. against Iraqi civilians, including sabot which can cut a victim in two separate pieces.
Myth: Democratic government? Hardly. These people are Muslims. That tells it all.
Myth: Gave government fighting force. Oh yeah. and while they were at it, were the cause of the loss of lives of over 6,000 Iraqi police. And took and are still taking months and months to 'train' Iraqi forces, (Odd, since it only takes a few months to 'train' US forces)
Operation Iraqi Freedom? Victory?
in your dreams. Might be more believable if there weren't so many lies attached to it.

I is interesting how many of the previous responders appear not to have independently verified facts.
The truth is that the media is only reporting the 'explosion of the day' and not bothering to report on the Iraqi economy, Iraqi politics, etc.
And one response in particular showed a massive amount of cluelessnes by assuming that asking the troops would prove his point. It is sad to see how many people think that the can base our opinions on nothing more tha what they want us to think.

As I stated earlier on another question about this war....We cannot defend this country with flower's and pixy dust....! It is a war...in war there will be casualties...it's sad but it's a fact..... Soldier's would not have signed up if they did not believe in what they were doing! For those who do not wish to fight it....go home and let the rest of us defend this great nation and preserve our way of life! We Will Gladly Lay Down Our Lives For The Country We Love!

LOL....thinks you should ask the service men and women over there if they are enjoying their victory. Bush went to war not knowing anything (remembers his speech where he didn't even know that Iraq was part Sunni and part Shite), no real plan, just force our brand of democracy down their throats and all would be good. The situation in Iraq is a long way from being called anything resembling a victory.

To all of you who talk about civillians dying. That is all I hear about. Post after post after post. Check this out real quick for me........
We are at WAR. Civillians die. It happens. Tough. Deal with it.
Have you all forgotten the 3,000 civillians that died on 9/11??
Yes you have.
The insurgents that me and my buddies have fought had no uniforms, they had nothing seperating them from the "Innocent" or the "Insurgents". War is hell. Its us or them.
Just because they arent spraying down a convoy with AK's and RPK's doesnt mean they are innocent. But hey, you wouldn't know, you just watch the TV and make judgements. You are cowards. Don't talk about things you know nothing about. Unless you have been there, on the deck, you know nothing about it.
Thats That.

Killing 60000+ civilians, failing to find WMD as stated, creating civil war and killing a dictator America helped to put and keep in power, all against a country that did not attack them is Success???
The "Democratic Government" in Iraq is still strangely silent about almost everything and has yet to show any signs of power or support from the people.
Hooray America. Try invading Haiti again next time round.
