since i live in the united states,i dont own one, but i rented one on a trip in europe.
on a scale of 1-10...

comfort: 7.5

economy: 9.0

reliability: 7.5

power: 6.5

handling: 9.5

acceleration(0-62): 6.5

speed: 7.0

I would always try to get a diesel with a turbo, otherwise it runs out of guts after about 2,500 revs; it will probably work out more economical to get a turbo lump as well as you won't use the gears so much or rev the engine so high.
