From where did Satan come?
All of Jehovah’s works are perfect; he is not the author of unrighteousness; so he did not create anyone wicked. (Deut. 32:4; Ps. 5:4) The one who became Satan was originally a perfect spirit son of God. When saying that the Devil “did not stand fast in the truth,” Jesus indicated that at one time that one was “in the truth.” (John 8:44) But, as is true of all of God’s intelligent creatures, this spirit son was endowed with free will. He abused his freedom of choice, allowed feelings of self-importance to develop in his heart, began to crave worship that belonged only to God, and so enticed Adam and Eve to listen to him rather than obey God. Thus by his course of action he made himself Satan, which means “adversary.”—Jas. 1:14, 15;

I really like the answer of the one above me...
Yet- Who is to actually say all this that everyone is reading in the Bible exists? How do You Really Know that Lucifer is bad...Labels Labels Labels!!!.
How can something which name means- Bearer of Light & Enlightenment -be Dark?...wtf???
Such a contradiction Even Jesus says He is "the Light of the World"...Is Satan Jesus and vice versa???...No one knows at the moment for sure.
Xianity was created by popes and governments of the world...See how it is finally being broken down?..People are so weak-minded they have to hold on to something that was a lie from the start.
I say that (IMHO) Lucifer may not be all that evil at all-who's to say? ....Where is the proof? Can you say this Lucifer even really exists-esp in the manner he is attributed? No- you can't prove it as fact.
History proves people NEED a scapegoat so they don't have to be responsible for their own actions...blame it on the "devil" any damn day and it will do. Anything to escape Personal Responsibility. Let's all just be a little logical for a few...

Where in the Bible does it say that Satan or Lucifer was evil from the beginning? According to the Old Testament Satan was an angel of Yahweh and did as he commanded. The Bible states in John 8 that the DEVIL was a murderer and liar from the beginning. Who or what the devil is is debatable, but from the Old Testament, it does not appear to be Satan. Some Gnostics believe that the passage in John 8:41-44 is referring to Yahweh.

I have never read such ignorance, either in the questions or the answers.
Ezekiel 28:13-19 and Isaiah 14:5-20 tell us that Lucifer was created as a perfect *cherub to stand over God's throne. He was created with great glory, with every precious gem for skin and musical pipes for vocal cords. It tells us that Lucifer became vain by his own beauty and demanded that God should bow to him. It tells of his attempted overthrow of heaven and how he convinced a third of the angels to side with him against God. And it tells how he was cast down for his treason. Lucifer was the first to commit sin. God did not create sin or evil. Lucifer, of his own free will, rebelled against his Creator.
But the Bible also tells us why God did not destroy Lucifer. Lucifer had told the angels that God was a tyrant and that those who did not agree with Him would be obliterated. Had God destroyed Lucifer, the angels would have believed that he was right and that God is not good. Revelation tells us that God has given free will to chose or not chose the Lord. At teh end of time, on Judgement day, every person who ever lived, along with all of the angels, will stand before God to give account for their choice, and all creation will see that it was Lucifer who was wrong. And he and all those who chose to follow him will be separated from God for all time for their treason. God, however, said that it is NOT His will that any man should perish, and to correct our stupid errors He gave up Himself to die in our place, so that those who would believe in Him would not receive the punishment due to Lucifer and those who follow him.
*[a cherub is not a fat little baby with wings that people think about. That notion came from Babylon as a representation of Tammuz (Ezekiel 8:14), the son of Nimrod and Semeramis who invented witchcraft, astrology, the Tower of Babel, and demanded worship as gods. Ezekiel chapter one gives us the description of true cherubs: their heads have four faces (an eagle's, a man's, a lion's and a calf's); they have four wings; blazing fire radiates up and down their bodies; they have feet like a calf; and they sparkled like the color of burnished brass (like melted liquid brass in a smelting pot). This is what Lucifer looked like. Lucifer is NOT the equal opposite of God, as some people think. Good and evil is not a yin and yang. Evil is an invader, created by behavior, and Lucifer is merely a created being just like any other created being. True, being an angel, he is a powerful being, but he is no competition for God and God WILL deal with Lucifer on the day of Judgement - and all the world will see who was right and who was wrong!]

You have asked a very deep question. Way too much to get into in this type of setting.
But God created the devil perfect. He was the greatest of all the angels. At this time God loved the devil. The devil decided to become God, and at this time is the only soul that is already condemned with no chance.
P.S. see, like I said this is a very deep subject. To the lady up top., the devil was condemned in the world that was, long before the garden of edin.
P.S. Again, to the man below, God did create the devil.
Told ya, way to deep of a subject, my last P.S.
P.S. Dang it Wesel, o.k. my last comment! The devil is in Heaven, not the eternal Heaven that will be (that place nor hell exists yet), but the place where God is at present time. Read Job, the devil comes right up to God and has a conversation with him. This happened about 4-thousand years ago, proff that the devil is not in hell at this time. No others are in hell either, all that are dead are with god.
P.S. Again,
The book of Job should bring about much of what you are looking into. God has direct relations with the devil throghout this book. To my knowledge, God talks to Job concerning Job's personal business. This happens "one on one" (God talking with ONE person) Job, more than anyother person. God also has more direct dealing with the devil himself than in any other book of the bible.
So, as the poster above stated " Had you actually read the bible you would know that God did not create Satan, God, Satan, And the angels were already there, God decided to exert his power to create the universe. " --------- This person is speaking about things BEFORE this world age, and is confused.
Yes God did creat the devil in the world that was.
Ezekiel 28 (really that whole chapter) but specific proff that God created the devil, Ezekiel 28v15 Tho wast perfect in every way from the day that thou wast CREATED, till iniquity was found in the.
Those with ears that are meant to hear let them listen:
There are 3 world ages, the world that was (when the devil was in good standing with God at a point in this time) All souls were created in this age. The world that is now (Our time, today) souls come through this world age that is now, by having their soul placed in a body of a woman. By the way not all souls will pass through this age some have been judged already (the ark angels for example) and some judged already will come through this age. Jeremiah 1v5
Before I formed the in the belly I KNEW THE; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I SANCTIFIED the, and I ORDAINED the a prophet unto the nations. So there you have it directly from God Himself. He knew and pre judged Jeremiah before birth into this world age. And the world that shall be (the future heaven on earth At the return of Christ.

Who syas Lucifer is evil! He was just helping out a fellow creation. If he hadn't made Adam and Eve eat the apple from the "tree of knowledge", they would not have been thrown out of Eden and would not have become independent. They would have been stuck in Eden being dependant on God forever. So Lucifer was just acting out of his own understandings.

This has a thought-provoking message no matter how you believe. Does evil exist?
The university professor challenged his students with this question. “Did God create everything that exists?”
A student bravely replied, "yes, He did!"
"God created everything?" The professor asked.
"Yes, sir," the student replied.
The professor answered, "If God created everything, then God created evil since evil exists, and according to the principal that our works define who we are then God is evil."
The student became quiet before such an answer.
The professor was quite pleased with himself and boasted to the students that he had proven once more that the Christian faith was a myth.
Another student raised his hand and said, "Can I ask you a question professor?"
"Of course", replied the professor.
The student stood up and asked, "Professor, does cold exist?"
"What kind of question is this? Of course it exists. Have you never been cold?"
The students snickered at the young man's question.
The young man replied, "In fact sir, cold does not exist. According to the laws of physics, what we consider cold is in reality the absence of heat. Everybody and every object is susceptible to study when it has or transmits energy, and heat is what makes a body or matter have or transmit energy. Absolute zero (- 460 degrees F) is the total absence of heat; all matter becomes inert and incapable of reaction at that temperature. Cold does not exist. We have created this word to describe how we feel if we have too little heat."
The student continued. "Professor, does darkness exist?"
The professor responded, "Of course it does".
The student replied, "Once again you are wrong sir, darkness does not exist either. Darkness is in reality the absence of light. Light we can study, but not darkness. In fact we can use Newton's prism to break white light into many colors and study the various wavelengths of each color.
You cannot measure darkness. A simple ray of light can break into a world of darkness and illuminate it. How can you know how dark a certain space is? You measure the amount of light present. Isn't this correct?
Darkness is a term used by man to describe what happens when there is no light present."
Finally the young man asked the professor. "Sir, does evil exist?"
Now uncertain, the professor responded, "Of course as I have already said. We see it every day. It is in the daily example of man's inhumanity to man. It is in the multitude of crime and violence everywhere in the world. "These manifestations are nothing else but evil."
To this the student replied, "Evil does not exist sir, or at least it does not exist unto itself. Evil is simply the absence of God. It is just like darkness and cold, a word that man has created to describe the absence of God. God did not create evil. Evil is not like faith, or love, that exist just as does light and heat. Evil is the result of what happens when man does not have God's love present in his heart. It's like the cold that comes when there is no heat or the darkness that comes when there is no light."
The professor quietly sat down.

NO, It does not say that God created the evil thing, person, pervert Satan!--
--Here is a description of what Satan was like before he perverted to Narcissum:
(Ezekiel 28:12-17) “. . .‘This is what the Sovereign Lord Jehovah has said: “‘“You are sealing up a pattern, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty. 13 In E´den, the garden of God, you proved to be. Every precious stone was your covering, ruby, topaz and jasper; chrys´o·lite, onyx and jade; sapphire, turquoise and emerald; and of gold was the workmanship of your settings and your sockets in you. In the day of your being created they were made ready. 14 You are the anointed cherub that is covering, and I have set you. On the holy mountain of God you proved to be. In the midst of fiery stones you walked about. 15 You were faultless in your ways from the day of your being created until unrighteousness was found in you. 16 “‘“Because of the abundance of your sales goods they filled the midst of you with violence, and you began to sin. And I shall put you as profane out of the mountain of God, and I shall destroy you, O cherub that is covering, from the midst of the fiery stones. 17 “‘“Your heart became haughty because of your beauty. You brought your wisdom to ruin on account of your beaming splendor. Onto the earth I will throw you. Before kings I will set you, [for them] to look upon you.”
--Satan had free will to be a good creation or what he turned himself into--He indeed practiced self-worship and continues to do so!

Free will was our great gift from the creator. Evil is a human creation. Without right / wrong to choose from how would our personal worth to creation be determinable?
