The houde next door to us is vacant, but one of our cats (Parker) keeps going down their chimney! Is there anyway we can get him to stop? He is a tiny 10 month old, who still thinks hes a kitten(and looks like it)

He also doesnt use a littler box and has to go outside to urinate. If we keep him inside, he cries really loud and wont stop till we let him out. Hes really spoiled and he knows it

My cat prefers outside unless it's really cold and then definitely uses a litter box. If the house next door is vacant, can you get ahold of the owner and ask if they mind if you screen the top of their chimney for the safety of not only your cat but peace of mind for them? I'm sure there are varmints that climb in as well like squirrel and mice and the occassional skunk. Don't think they would like it much if suddenly they lit the fireplace and a stench like that came out. You can usually look online for the registry of the owner of the home through the property tax information from the city or township if you don't know the owner. There will be a name and an address and sometimes even a phone number or ask the tax office, they might help.

Keep it inside of course. If it doesn't like using the litter box, you can always try using cat toilet seats. I've never seen one in use myself but I've heard they actually work. My source is a site with a picture of one, but you can find them for much cheaper (around $20-30) at some pet stores. If you want to keep putting it outside, plastic claw caps are an alternative to declawing which will still keep your cat from climbing. Plus, they look cool. :)

I would have a screen placed over that chimney! Someone moves in and starts a fire, need I say more.
