My friend got fingered by her boyfriend, and she's feels dreadful about not telling her parents, she feels like she's lost her virginity, almost had sex...i told her fingering was not sex, but is it? Or is it just foreplay?

It is not sex hon. He just touched her in places he should not have. It is just too bad that she let him, because the next time it becomes easier to go farther and pretty soon she does have sex and statistics have shown that the earlier a girl starts to have sex the higher the possibility of pregnancy. Although it is a wonderful experience to have children it keeps you from enjoying life to the fullest without attachments. You have no idea how much fun it can be to go to college. So many more freedoms then high school. How good you feel when you have a few classes in your back pocket or a degree! Next time she says she hates it when her parents dictate what she does. Tell her it all ties in. A husband will dictate, a baby will dictate, an std will dictate...If she takes control of this situation now, it will become easier and easier to make better decisions and she as an independent woman will be the one to dictate what she does in her life.
How about you suggest they go on double dates..

unless she asked the boy to stop and he didn't then why would she tell her parents? they will freak out, not only will they blame the boy they will blame her too, and lets face it, sex is part of growing up an learning what we like and don't like, it sounds to me like she may have not been ready to go that far yet, but she should not feel guilty about what she did, just learn from it, if she didn't like it don't do it again till she feels ready! Or she may like other aspects of sex and may prefer never to get fingered, sex is a very personal thing, and should only be taken as far as one is ready to go, you should never do anything you don't want do, I'm sure things will work out for her!

Foreplay.

Not sure if her parents really need to know however but then they will always be able to tell if there is something up with the 'guilty' behaviour of their little girl.

Does she have to tell her parents the grisly details of her love life? I think not.

actually, i broke my girlfriend's hymen by fingering, so it's not uncommon, she'll be okay. She can learn to enjoy it over time, but not feel guilty
