Not much I am afraid. Cats are smarter then dogs, so if you keep dry food out at all times they will only eat when they are hungry (not just scarf it down because it is there). If you feed you kitty moist food or treats the best advice I can offer is to get a schedule and stick to it. If kitty learns he can get his way by meowing he will not stop. As long as he has dry food it is not cruel to deny him wet food at his whim (no matter what he says). Keep in mind I had a kitty growing up that would always meow when she wanted something besides what was in her bowl or what I did so you may need to just learn to love you buddy in spite of his vocality.

Feed your cat at least twice or three times a day depending on his weight, age and the reccomendations on the bag. If your cat is hungry after two meals a day, provide three smaller ones as opposed to two larger ones. If the meowing continues, break it up into four smaller ones. Free feeding leads to obese cats, so I wouldn't recommend leaving food out at all times.

And if you feel you feed him enough, take him and a feces sample to the vet and ask for a worm test, especially is he's losing weight. He could be sapped of vital nutrients by a parasite and his body is telling him he needs more food to make up for it.

If you don't want to feed him then simply take it to the pound or humane society and tell them you are unable or unwilling to feed your pet.But the best thing to do would be to feed him.You don't need to get on yahoo answers to ask us if it's okay to feed him, just go ahead and show us some initiative and do it no matter how much it pains and torments you.

Feed him you moron - a cat should have dry food available at all times as they like small frequent meals...so he should never get to the meowing stage of hunger. dumbazz .
