I would like to know if you have any information on these subjects, and what one of these subjects would you choose?

It depends on what you want to do. I think business is a bit of a helpful subject however it is not respected by universities (unless you want to do business of course) because it is not a core subject and is said to be the easiest of the a level subjects.
(There was a test to see if it really is as easy as people say. A man was made to study a business book for a day and at the end of the day made to sit a business exam, he passed with a C. That says everything because even for a C at a-level you need to work hard.)

Business Studies is the subject that I used to teach but then it was spilt into different subjects like economics, accounts, etc now it is one subject and not so deep and not the kind of subject that universities look for. It is not now academic enough.

Engineering is also more practical but the UK is short of good engineers.

It really depends on what you want to do and what other subjects you have chosen to do.

If it is maths, languages and physics then engineering would be more useful - if it is economics, accounts, English and so on then business.

Naturally you may not want to go to university but perhaps enter one of the professions such as accountancy, law or banking and then strangely engineering is more useful as you can and will learn business studies later.

Write down your skills and what you can do and then what you feel you want to do. Find papers and cut out jobs you might want to do and look for the entry requirements and this will guide you.

Obviously we would need to know what career you have chosen. If you want to be affiliated to a job in engineering, then that is the obvious choice. Business studies of course covers a wider spectrum , and could be used in most `numerical` jobs. If the job you want has nothing whosoever to do with engineering then business would be the better choice. However, more students take business studies than they do engineering and in the real world, what is in short supply usually has the most demand for. Take which ever will be of most use in your career choice. Good luck.

It matters whether you want to be an accountant or an engineer.
