Do you have alzheimer's? Did you or did you not accept Him as your savior? If you don't have alzheimer's, then you know perfectly well the answer to your question. The real question is, if you DID acept Him, are you living in rebellion against Him? Is every word, deed and thought that you make determined by yourself or by your Lord and Master. After all, you are no longer your own property. You were bought with a price - the blood of Jesus Himself. While nothing but FAITH in Jesus will give you salvation, what you say, do, and think will demonstrate that faith. You can't earn salavtion or be good enough for salvation. But once you have received salvation based on your faith, doing things your own way is no longer an option. Remember what fate it was that you are saved from, and then you'll understand how minor a trade off it is to surrender yourself to God - your pathetic life in exchange for eternity with the Almighty God. Such a deal!

If you've asked him to be your savior and have the genuine desire to leave old things behind and become new in Him. The human heart is full of doubts and is not always equipped to grasp the concept of unconditional acceptance and forgiveness from an unseen, infinite being. Even if you don't feel He is with you, He is. His presence manifests itself in different ways.

Darlin' - Jesus promised us that if we believe in Him, we are his.
Do you have a Bible? You will need one to help you grow strong and help when you have questions. I wish I had a way to type out all of the scriptures I know here...
And quite honestly - I would want a better forum to converse about this...
If you ever get to http://www.churchUSA.com - We'd love to help you. There are a lot of trolls that try and cause trouble... and some folks who are too legalistic... but for the most part we try to support each other in the faith. (I have a different name there.)
For now, hon - the Bible promises this:
"He that covers his sins will not prosper; but whosoever confesses his sin and forsakes them shall have mercy." Proverbs 28:13
"And this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the answers we desire of Him." 1st John 5:14-15
It is His will that you accept that He has paid for your sins - and that you would have Him as your personal Lord and Savior.
My testimony:
When I was a child, my mother led me to Christ.
She explained about how to ask Jesus for forgiveness of my sins, and that He would be faithful to forgive. She explained that I then needed to ask Him to come to me and be my personal Lord and Savior, and that He would, if I just asked.
I promptly plopped down on the floor and asked Jesus - but felt nothing. I was confused.
A week later we were driving in the mountains of Colorado during the fall. The aspen leaves were all gold, and I began thinking about God - and how I wanted to have Jesus in my life. I prayed again... still nothing. More confusion. I then began praying sincerely about my sins and begged Jesus to forgive me and to please come into my life.
At that moment - this thick, tangible peace began to flow over me - and I knew. I was changed. I've known He was my Savior ever since. That was my experience. Some have had the same experience - some a different one.
There have been many times when I have stumbled, many times when I sinned and rebelled. I have always found that life without Him is awful. Life with Him is my only way.
He says: "Be still and know that I am God..." (Psalm 46:10) and sometimes that's where we need to be when searching for Him.
"Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God." Romans 10:17
You need the scriptures to help you.
You need fellowship with other Christians to strengthen you.
Have you found a good Bible based Church you like yet? Pray that God lead you to the one that will help you most. Talk to the Pastor about how you feel. His studies may give him insight into your questions.
I can give more information in the messageboard format over in the forums at ChurchUSA.com if you need to talk more.
It's always better in person, though... please seek out a home church and the Pastor... don't let the devil confuse you hon.
I pray you have peace. --De

God will decide. Keep on the track you are on, speak to your Pastor. Love your neighbor and Lord. Read the Book of James for help on this one. Remember, Christ is our example! God Bless

You will find in your life that your actions will express your faith in God. You are on a journey, not at a destination . . . feed yourself on God's word, and in fellowship with other Christians. You will mature in your faith and feel much more confident.

You have, or you haven't.
Did you realize your need for a Saviour?
Did you recognize that Jesus is the Saviour?
Did you ask Him to be your Saviour, trusting Him?

The question shouldn't be how do you know when you have, it should be, why would you accept a fantasy in place of reality?
