I want to know if this means that she likes me?

This girl who i like always says hi to me because im really shy and wont say hi first. We talk occasional on msn. one of her friends asked me if i like the girl that i like i was just wondering if this could mean she likes me. We r both in band and sometimes talk there we were also both part of our schools swim team.

I wouldn't say that when Person 3 asks a question of person 1 regarding person 2 (such as whether or not person 1 likes person 2) means anything at all about how person 2 might feel.
Your best bet is to let person 2 know that you think they're kinda cool (or whatever your feelings are) and ask if they feel the same about you - or just wait for their reaction.
I wouldn't recommend anyone rely 100% on a third party's opinion (or actions) to decide how someone else is feeling. Not anymore than I would rely on someone Else's opinion about someone as to whether I choose to like them or not. I would make a judgement call based on my own experience with that person. Consider what you hear.... yes... but never rely on it completely - it will always fall short of reality and could get you into trouble.

If her friend is asking those sort of questions, I'd say she does like you but is probably a bit shy as well. Just ask her out! The worst she can do is say no and if she does, it's not the end of the world. Best of luck! (o:
