I use both. The anticipation of film is part of the attraction for me. Until recently, I was shooting 100% film at weddings, but now about 50/50. Film has a different look than digital, and a good film b&w still can't be reproduced digitally. A sharp, well exposed negative printed on silver paper using an optical system is a thing of beauty!
After the initial outlay, digital is cheaper. But now you can buy a killer film SLR for pennies on the dollar, which makes shooting film attractive for the time being. In the future, processing will be harder to find. Film is already going up in price and there is less selection than in the past. In a few years, 35mm will be a niche market. That will be a sad day for many.

Digital! definitely digital because there are cheap ones in the market that take real good photos. you really wont see the difference in print quality..and digital means u can pick which photos u want to print out which is a huge advantage because you dont waste money. AND! you can easily edit the pictures on a PC before printing them. So digital cameras have many advantages over film cams. and no practical disadvantages. GO FOR A DIGITAL! :D

I was initially suspicious of digital, but 2 years ago took the plunge and bought a digital camera. I am now completely and totally converted and wouldn't contemplate going back. I would point out that I am very fussy about the quality of my pictures - and digital wins the contest. The only reservation I would have is that really you do need a computer to make best use of digital - but since you have asked this question here, you probably have.

If you take pictures very little, use film. But if you take pictures very often, use digital. Right now even a cheap camera (under $150) can take very good pictures. You will not see any difference between prints from film and digital.

Choosing a camera all depends on what you want out of it. If you want to get prints and quality, then go for the film. But if you want to put them into a slideshow, montage, or put them on a website, then definately use the digital. I wonder if they have hybrid cameras... that would be cool.

Go with digital. You can see your images instantly and erase the one that you don't like . where as film you end up wasting money on undeveloped exposures.

digital because you can save it on a disk or computer and continue to use it even pas 100 photos. some you can video tape with and when you want a real photo you can go to the store a print it out . it save you time and money so you can take as many pics as you want and delete as many as you want untill you find the one that you want and you can see it before you buy it
