I would take her to the store and let her pick one .... of course you pick a few and then she can pick for them.

I would suggest a daybed with a solid back as well as solid head and foot boards (if you want something with head and foot boards) instead of something that has slats ... because just like with a crib she is still small enough to gets her arm/leg stuck in the slats and hurt herself. Also on most daybeds they have different height levels so that you can judge how high you want the mattress to be off the floor. You don't want the mattress to high for them to be able to get in and out of.
I would say a good height is when they can sit on the edge of the bed (with mattresses on it) and their feet are just barely off the ground.

My suggestion would be to place the mattress on the floor first without the frame or anything so that she can get usto getting into & out of bed without having to really climb. Then after a lil while but the bed together.

Best of luck choosing a bed.

I don't really think that there's on better then an other as long as it has a rail on the side, we always put the bed against the wall so there is just the one side they can get out of and that's the side with the rail and that's just on half. I think we ended up just getting one from Wal-Mart.

We started with a twin mattress on the floor. When our kids seemed comfortable with the mattress, we added a frame and box spring. We put it against a wall with a guard rail on the open side.
