do NOT attempt to do this - act like a responsible pet owner and take your cat to the vet. If you can't afford to look after your cat properly you shouldnt have got one

You'll probably do more damage than good trying to fix it yourself with advice from people off the internet!

You really really shouldn't.
For a start, how do you know it is broken?

It's a welfare issue for your cat not to be given strong painkillers (that you can only get from the vet - human drugs can kill cats). Cats can seem amazingly stoic, but your cat must be in a lot of pain.

If you are worried about the costs of vet fees, tell your vet this. They should be able to work out the cheapest option. If you're in the UK there are charities like the Blue Cross and the PDSA that will treat your pet for free if you can't pay.

Firstly, you train for six years so that you can do basic procedures for a further three years....

Then you spend about five hundred thousand on a state of the art x-ray machine....

You then x-ray the cat so that you can see the break properly and assess the true extent of the damage.

Shave cat as plaster is a bummer to get off cat fur...

Plaster cat.

Get the idea?

Or you can just take the cat to the vets like any other sensible and responsible pet owner...you have NO IDEA what you are getting yourself into and your poor cat doesn't deserve it.

Please don't even think about it, perhaps not intended but it would be so cruel. Get the cat to a vet a.s.a.p. If it's the cost you can't afford and you live in UK you should be able to find out where the nearest PDSA is. It's for people unable to afford vetinary bills but you should phone first and check if you meet the criteria and what proof you would have to bring. All they ask is a donation of whatever you can afford and normally they are excellent.

You can't Tracy - only a vet can do that. If money is a problem try an animal charity such as the RSPCA, or the PDSA (if you're in the UK) - look in the Yellow Pages. Meanwhile let the cat rest in a safe, cosy, quiet place.

You should have been taken the poor thing to the vet instead of asking this stupid question. How cruel that it has waited this long for medical treatment, you should be reported, the vet will be able to tell by the condition of the leg how long you waited, if you have not gone by now please for the sake of your pet go NOW

Hi, NO,NO,NO, please don't even try, you must take your cat to the vet's you could leave your cat with permanent damage if you try. Your cat will be in pain if it has broken it's leg and may need anti-biotics for any infection, not to mention your cat could be in shock.

Aw that's stingy, don't be tight take it to a vet! If you really want to save your cats leg your going to have to! It would be cruel for you to do this yourself, as i am presuming you are not experienced, I hope your cat is OK.

I guess you have the idea by now that this isn't a do-it-yourself thing. It really isn't. I'm not an animal rights extremist, far from it, but this ranks right up there with trying to set a child's broken arm by yourself rather than going to the ER.
