I want to go to 6th Ave, betwee, 38th and 39th Sts. The company said I can take the train into Penn Station, and it is just a few blocks away. Does anyone know the best way to get there ? Any suggestions would be helpful.

Depending of where in South Jersey you are coming from.
Best bet is to get onto the train, Get on a bus if you have to, to Trenton or someplace on the North Jersey Coast Line

The train will put you into Penn Station, New York Between 32 & 34th Street, Between 7th and 8th Ave. (don't get off at Penn Station, Newark).
If you have to take a bus to The City, this will bring you to the Port Athourty Bus Terminal Between 40th & 42nd Street, 8th & 9th Ave, which would bring you close to your destination also.

Definitely take the nj transit train to penn station. If you don't want to walk from there you can pick up a cab for about 8 bucks. If you're unfamiliar with the city a cab is probably your best bet.

Depends on where in southern NJ you are. Here's a link that lists all of the stops on NJT's Coast Line trains: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_Jersey_Coast_Line

As for the subway, you can go to http://hopstop.com and punch in the address that you want and it will give you subway and walking directions.
