i had alot of great answers on my prior question about what they were now im interested in how they origonated can someone help thanks

if you seen my question on sleep paralysis
then it is my belief that before we knew about this condition , we could not explain the nightmare ( hypnagogic state )
therefore it seemed demonic and we attributed it to that
we have come a long way since then

lileth ( that Draco mentioned ) was supposedly Adams first wife , he was not pleased with her equality and cast out ... so God created another wife for Adam to please him
Lileth is where succubus came from ... the idea of a woman scorned kind of thing

The legend goes that they are the children of Lilith, Adam's rebellious first wife. Incubi and succubi are her children sent out to tempt the children of Adam and Eve.
