Traditionally, food. I don't think people sitting shiva are allowed to cook their own.

Yup food is the answer here. I would suggest finding out if the folks you are visiting keep a kosher home or not, if you are able to. If not then you don't need to worry about kosher.

And there are always some "safe" things, such as a fruit basket. And many items like nice cookies are marked kosher if you look. So if you are not sure, you can go for that.

And depending on how well you know the people, it might be a nice idea to ask if there is anything special they need. They might really appreciate some beverages, serving plates etc etc if lots of folks are bringing food. But if you aren't close enough to ask that, I'd just stick with something safe. The main thing is going and being there for them!
