There are different versions of windows vista. You want to get Vista Home premium or higher. It has fancy menus and also if you do gaming or graphics its much better. It is a myth that you have to give programs permission to launch.

You can choose to have it like that or not in the settings.

The way it goes is lets say you want to launch a game you would click on it and it will show a box that says something like "You are about to run this game" and you just click your mouse and the game starts so it's not a big deal. Its just 1 mouse click extra and adds to the security.

It's really good it has Antispyware built into it so you don't have to spend money (Or waste your computers memory) on having a bunch of programs in memory.

I have used all windows, 98 xp and Vista is best.

People that own vista will tell you how awesome it is but the ones that diss it usually can't afford it so they have to come up with some excuse why they haven't upgraded.

There are no Major problems no.
The authorization you are referring to is a problem with the parental and admin status on the operating system, that quite frankly no one seems to know how to use or disable yet. I'm sure http://www.microsoft.com will be able to help with this matter though.

The only problem I had with the system is:

Lack of compatibility

Hardly any of my games worked
Some audio does not work
My drivers and sound card failed
Internet connection slowed down

Other than that it was fine
I am trying to give a really honest answer here. Some users may give reviews but this is first hand knowledge and experience.

Yes. There are many problems with vista. There are

1. Very many compatibility problems.
2. Very many performance problems
3. VERY VERY many privacy problems.
4. Very many Internet security problems.
5. Very many moral problems.
5. All of the above constitute a BIG usability problem

Therefore: YES there are many problems with windows vista.

To see what the international press have to say about vista, see www.badvista.org for a very large selection of articles from a variety of news sources.
