Don't cut anymore - it tends to get worse. It's stupid, and it sucks. I've done it for about 16 years - have to love long sleeves in the 100 degree weather - no questions asked or awkward moments really!! It's okay if you don't want to believe in God - I believe God is what you choose to let him be. If I make a rock my God, he will provide me with the same resources as the typical Christian God. Okay, so anyway, back to you, please seek professional help. Try again and again until you find the doctor and the medication that works for you.
The first time I sought help I went to 4 doctors and didn't like any of them. I finally got on meds and didn't seek counseling. 6 months on the wrong medication and the doctor said they could not keep treating me and told me to go to someone else. I ran fast - years later, I tried again and went through 3 doctors before I dropped 2 and finally found a decent 1.
In re to the one who said, don't seek God, seek help: that is ridiculous. Finding God, if you go through a 'church' can help just as much as being put on medication and seeing a therapist. A church can help warp your mind so much and force your life into such a structured environment and one of studying/practicing/teaching/praying etc. that your depression can be cured - simply by the idea that you don't have time to focus on it or think of it. If you're living your life by the church and by God's way, you really wouldn't have time - and it would be a sin to think depressing, negative thoughts, so you would continually be asking for forginess (thus, again, being distracted from the depression).
In re to that one response: Death is not a gift from God - if you are a believer, then it is Him calling you back up to Heaven because your time on earth is done (what a dope for that one guy stating that). Oh, and God giving 'death' as a gift to someone who commits suicide, well, um yeah, explain that one...........

If you are thinking about killing yourself or imagining ways in which you could kill yourself, call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room right now!
If you are chronically depressed, and it sounds as if you are, you should really see a psychiatrist, not a psychoanalyst. A psychiatrist can prescribe medication to help you with your symptoms and talk to you about what is making you depressed and how you can cope with your feelings in a way that won't hurt you. Anti-depressant medication, although it still has unpleasant side-effects, has come a long way, and it has helped millions of people like you.
Belief in God has nothing to do with your depression. I am an atheist and am perfectly happy. Maybe you feel that if you believed in God, you would have some direction? Many people feel that way, and they join churches that give them direction because they need that kind of guidance. If you feel as if you need spiritual guidance, give the Universalist Unitarian Church a try.
You really don't have to suffer. Please call your doctor or go to the emergency room.

psychiatrists are like hair dressers - just cause they have the license to practice doesn't mean they are any good. You just have to find one that works for you. You need to talk to someone to work out your issues. Especially the cutting, most of this probably stems from the reason that you cut. You would certainly be missed - if you have parents, you will be missed. A mental health professional (the right one) will be able to help you, make you feel better about life and yourself and help you find some joy in the world. I hope that things work out for you. Best of luck.

Depression is either caused by anger turned into the insides of yourself, or is a chemical imbalance in the brain. Either way, medication can help-an anti-depressant, anti-anxiety med. What helps along with that is counseling. Not a shrink, a counselor, who you can talk to. Either once a week or however often you and the counselor determine. Believe me, people who are in your life at this time, and even before, would miss you, and they care. They just don't know how to show it. Please, consider counseling, and the proper med to help you. I'm sorry you don't believe in God, but that is your choice. I wish you the best. Take care.

Hi. I know how you feel. I think maybe you should think about seeking professional help. Not all psychiatrists/psychologists are the same. You just have to find one that you feel comfortable talking to. Also, medication might help. It helps me. Talk to someone, anyone. Your mom? Friends? There is someone out there that cares a great deal about you. Think about them. I hope you feel better, soon. Just take one day at a time.

what makes you depressed are these things you could change in a month or even a year write your self a list of what you want to change pick out 5 of them and try to make them happen over the next year. also i"ll bet their are people who would notice if you were gone. my brother hung his self 5 years ago I found him hanging from a tree. I know that at the end he regretted his choice I also know if he would have given his self time he would have made it threw his pain. you need a good friend who will just listen to you when you need them..I wish you all the best.. you have to fight for happiness

this is not a problem that anyone on Yahoo answers can help you with, and certainly not God or a church. You need someone with experience with this to help you out, and determine where these feelings are coming from. Don't be silly, i'm sure tons of people would miss you. You need to realize that you need help, and get it. (from a licensed professional.) good luck, hon.
