I'm currently living in Germany, and its kinda hard trying to learn Physics in German, especially since I have NO background in the subject. So, I really hope that someone can recommend something.

Don't know about textbooks, but I really enjoy reading about physics. Brian Greene is one of the best writers for non-scientists that I know of. Try "The Elegant Universe" and "The Fabric of the Cosmos." Excellent presentation of the ideas without the math.

Barron's AP Physics book is excellent. They have B or C, depending on if you want the book to include calculus or not.

I think this is somewhat of an oxymoron... a "good" physics book... funny stuff.

look at the name... phy "sucks".

I have a couple physics books from college that werent bad to understand... if you want them let me know - maybe we can work a deal. it is not like physics has changed all that much.
