ive heard there is a way to mess with it using widows media player...anyone have any ideas?

Well I don't know about Windows Media Player as I never use it, but there are programmes which will allow you to offset the audio in relation to the video.

I often use a free programme called "VirtualDub" (available at the site I mentioned). It has the capability of offsetting the audio in microsecond increments.

Of course this all depends on what type of video file is involved. Different types treat the audio differently. Also, sometimes a simple offset won't work as when the audio is playing at a different rate than the video, where it's not out of sync by the same amount at all points during the video. In this case you would have to "stretch" or "shorten" the audio to match the video's playing time.

If you visit the site I mentioned, there will be guides (much better than mine BTW), and tools (most free), and forums where you can ask questions if you have problems.
