I've always pondered over this and maybe someone can help me understand. If Jesus was destined to die on the cross for our salvation, amd judas was the one to turn him over, how Can Judas be sent to hell for doing what he was ment to do. So what if Judas didnt turn him over, would someone else have turned Jesus over? Or would Jesus have not been crucified if he didnt do it which would be a greater burden on them both i would think? There was an old gosspel found a while back called the gospel of jhudas which makes much more sence to me between the relationship of the two where a friend was asked to turn a friend over. What do you think?

I like the play on words spelling of your screen name. I would assume Judas has been forgiven and will go to heaven or is in heaven. Sorry, smite me fellow Christians, that is just how THIS Christian believes and I am no longer apologizing to anyone for how I believe. Yes, the Gospel of Judas is good reading and certainly adds to religious thought...he was a gnostic I believe. Some Christians completely deny all gnostics...I find that unacceptable.

the gospel of judas is just another one of the gnostic gospels that the apostle paul warned the first century church about. These gnostics have a totally different view of Jesus. Also, these gnostic gospels were written century's after the synoptic gospels were written. From the time that Christ died to the time the first Gospel was written, it is said to be about 27 years. Thats a pretty short timespan if you compare it to any other text in ancient history. God see's the movie, he knows beforehand what we will do and what we won't do. God knew that Judas was all about money and his heart wasn't right with his Son, this is evident throughout the Gospels. So if He knows that we will not exercise our free will and come to Him for salvation, he will use that free will to reject him to achieve his ultimate plan. Remember, Judas betrayl of Jesus was prophesied to happen hundreds of years before it came to be. "He would be betrayed by his own" "He would be betrayed by 30 pieces of silver" This is just another example of how accurate Biblical prophesy is.

This is something that can't really be answered here. There was a Gospel according to Judas recently discovered, where the author (persumably Judas) says that Jesus ordered him to turn Him in. You just have to remember: There are only four Gospels in the Bible, and there are many more that were written.

I don't think Judas could've gone to Hell. Did Jesus' words, "Forgive them, for they know not what they are doing," not apply to Judas as well?

Judas' betrayal of Jesus was a necessary event for Christianity to have came about. Without the betrayal, Jesus remains an apocalyptic prophet, and not a Messianic figure.

The Bible says that the spirit of Satan had filled Judas - even further eliminating Judas' responsibility in Jesus' execution.

i don't know.. i bet i could ask my husband and he'd have a good answer. but who's to say that judas did go to hell? and if he did, i'd say it was more because he committed suicide. well... i guess he could've.. if you go by the idea that denying the truth of the gospel/the holy spirit is one of the worst sins..maybe hell... but i don't know. who's to say where anyone goes, reallly
