Lee, You crack me up... you will be fine, relax and enjoy your trip. A lot of peeps here have expressed concern about unsafe areas of L.A., but you are the first to be worried about too many "celebrities and beautiful people". Relax you won't see any probably...Have fun on your trip...

There are a lot of websites that give information on what to do at disneyland and lots of detail on every single ride. Just search Disneyland Tips or something like that.
As for my experience, Disneyland is beautiful at night and can get cold at times. A must see is Fantasmic if they still have it (its been a few months since I went). It was recommended on many websites and I had to see it to believe it. Another "must do" is use Fast-Pass.
I have been to California a lot in the past few years and I have not seen a celebrity. I've been all over California. I've seen more celebrities in Vegas.
There are always fireworks at Disneyland. They had one right before the Fantasmic.
I'm old already (33) and could never get sick of going to Disneyland. I have kids and my 5-year-old went more than once a year already. We are probably going again soon now that we can drive (whereas we lived in Hawaii before).
Have fun on your trip and beware of the crowds and people pushing and cutting in line. It might be crowded if people are on spring break.

Lee;
Don't be afraid of California. I really doubt that you will see any celebrities at Disneyland, nor will you get a sunburn at night. Wear sunblock during the day just as you would at home. Disneyland does have fireworks displays on selected nights, but not every night. Most of the people you meet at Disneyland, and around the Anaheim, California area, are just plain old hard working people just like the ones in your home town. You said you were traveling with a group, but you didn't say if you were just visiting or if you were preforming somewhere. Come on out and enjoy your stay, and WELCOME to California.
PS: If your group is going to be here for a couple days, consider getting tickets to "The Price is Right". They select contestants from organized groups, and one of you may win a prize to take back home.

Anaheim is located in inland Orange County, and it can get extremely hot. You should always bring suntan lotion when you're spending a lot of time outdoors. Even when it seems overcast, the heat can give you sunburn.
Disney is often crowded, but it can also be a lot of fun. I've always enjoyed my visits to the park (even as an adult). The rides are quite high-tech and different from the usual theme park amusements. And the lights and theming effects are always top-notch. Don't miss: Indiana Jones, Finding Nemo, Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, Pirates of the Carribean, Soarin' Over California, Tower of Terror, and A Bug's Life. Those are must-see attractions.
There are fireworks and parades at night.
Though the only "celebrities" you'll see at the Disneyland Resort are cast members playing characters from the Disney movies (Snow White, Tarzan, and the like). Orange County is nowhere near Hollywood...either physically or culturally.

Disneyland is an over crowded, over priced amusement park. You won't see any celebrities there, but yes, California is full of beauitful want to be's. The sun is very strong, so of course you will get burned up if you don't protect yourself from the sun. Lots of lights at night at Disneyland and really pretty, but crowded and expensive. I was a writer and singer in LA for a few years, and Disneyland is not the place to get discovered. Keep at your skill though and pitch your stuff to everyone you can get an address for. Have fun

DEFINATELY Disneyland! Disneyland has much to choose from! They have rides, games, restaurants, hotels and resorts nearby (not to mention parades on holidays and special events) . It is so much fun! They even have all the Disney characters! But California Adventure park has very little rides and from what I've heard from most of my friends who went there, doesn't have too much to offer...but either way they are really close. But I would suggest Disneyland. ;)

Disneyland is a crowded theme park especially on the weekends and summer. You definitely won't see any celebrities there, but you will see people dressed up as cartoon characters. There are fireworks, but not everyday. You would have to check the calendars for that. Click on the link for a video preview of what disneyland is like http://disneyland.disney.go.com/disneyland/en_US/home/home?name=HomePage
California has great weather, so of course you will get sunburns just wear plenty of sunblock. Don't be afraid, just have fun! =)

Having spent all but the last 3 years of my life living two blocks from Disneyland and having been a season pass holder for most of my life, I can tell you it's nothing to be afraid of.
Like everyone else said, it's often overcrowded and you will wait in long lines depending on when exactly you are there. Weekends being far more crowded than weekdays and of course all major holidays and spring break as well as summer are massively crowded. Wear comfortable shoes and sunscreen and you'll be fine. I'd also suggest wearing pants or shorts as the seating on some rides (such as splash mountain) has you straddling the seat and skirts can leave you a little too... revealed.
One other thing to point out is that food/drinks/souvenirs are considerably more expensive inside the park than in outside establishments. You are not allowed to bring outside food/drinks in with you so you will get stuck buying some overpriced concessions so allow for that in your budget. There is a picnic area outside the main gates but that can prove to be more inconvenient than just forking over your cash inside.
As for California being full of beautiful people, it's really not. You will definitely find some trend-following teens there but Disneyland is set right in the middle of a lower to middle class city with a predominately Hispanic population. The people you see at Disneyland will reflect that. You will also see a *lot* of Japanese tourists as well as an equally large number of tourists from all over the Midwestern USA and Canada. You're extremely unlikely to see any celebrities there. In the thousands of times I went there while growing up (I'm 26 now so it wasn't all that long ago) I only saw celebrities on 3 occasions and none of it was that exciting.
The entire cast and crew that works hard to make Disneyland such a great place to visit are very well-trained and can answer pretty much any question you may have while there. They're friendly and outgoing so don't be afraid to ask for help if you need anything. Be sure to grab one of the free maps of the park as you enter as it can seem large and finding the specific ride you want to go on can be challenging if you're not familiar with the different areas otherwise. The map will also list show times for all of the parades and firework displays. If you want a good spot to watch either from, you'll want to be sure to get to the viewing areas early as they fill up quickly. If you get blisters on your feet from all the walking (or any other injury/illness should occur) there is a first aid station on Main Street near the restrooms where you can get bandaids and whatnot. If you slip and fall or are otherwise injured on a ride (rare but it does happen), do let an employee know immediately so that they can help. Main Street also has lockers where you can stow your purchases/jacket/whatever while enjoying the park and they're really cheap (only a few quarters) so it's a good idea to stop by there if you're tired of carrying things around.
One final note. While on Disney property you are really exceptionally safe. They employ a lot of off-duty and retired police officers as their security staff and have baggage screening before entering the park to ensure that no one is bringing anything dangerous in with them. Their well-trained staff keeps a very close watch on everything that happens while inside Disney property and you'll have a wonderful and safe time. However, the neighborhood behind and around Disneyland is not safe, especially past dark. As in most large Californian cities, there is a constant problem with gangs who do occasionally harass innocent tourists and do engage in shootings despite police efforts to curb them. This isn't intended to scare you but I've seen enough visitors to Anaheim unknowingly strolling around gang-infested streets late at night to think this is worth pointing out. Use your common sense and don't wander off Disney property without knowing where exactly you're going and don't go anywhere alone. The vast majority of visitors to Disneyland encounter no problems beyond long lines and I'm sure you'll have a safe and fun trip yourself.

Relax Disneyland is a glorified amusement park that is a hell of a lot of fun. As to the rest of California: they may think they are "beautiful" people ...but always remember that the majority of the residents of California are actually transplants from the mid-west. Even the majority or movie stars are simple transplants from some place else.

Just took my mom at XMAS and went to Disneyworld last spring. Disneyland is just like Disneyworld except it has a few different rides. California adventure is much like MGM studios at first glance but has a really nice mock pier area with really cool rides. Of course there are fireworks.
