Yes it is,,,,but,,,,it will degrade the meats flavor and texture...but you have already frozen it(which does the same thing)...so I say ...go for it....you cant hurt it much more.

Good luck...and...Good Eats!

Just UPDATING this; It is the safest to thaw in the refrigerator. It could take 1 to 3 days (depending on the mass of the chicken). Don't take any longer than 5 days to wait to cook them though, or it's quality will not be so great. Temp each piece of chicken and if it's a large chicken take the temp in at least 3 different areas. 165*F or ABOVE. For a fast yet UNSAFE way: Best way to thaw a piece of chicken rapidly you want to go with; HEAT: Temperature of the water: 90*F to 110*F no longer than 30 minutes. *RAPID Bacteria growth!* OR COOL: Temperature of the water: 42*F to 70*F(Room temperature) no longer than 2 hours WITH a 3 minute break (back into the cooler, or freezer where it came from), *AFTER 1 HOUR*, if you are using cool water. If you use the heating or cooling, you must use water. It's obvious that you want to keep in a sealed bag, completely submerged. Moderator your temps every 10 to 15 minutes change water or the temp of it to keep at desired temp. Please don't use running water. It would be a waste! Thanks.

Truely is the worst way to defrost any meat: however; bone or no bone yes it can be done. Just follow the guidelines of your microwave (type of meat - weight - start)

Done it a zillion times and there are no microwave door shaped holes in the kitchen walls.

Defrosting is such a mild heat that it will be perfectly safe to do this.

Imagine the heats achieved in your oven - you haven't blown the door off that yet have you?!

of course just stay away from metal be it a metal dish or if it has metal trim in anyway. Want to blow your microwave? Put in a bread-basket , they have metal inside the wicker for strength
