Well, I guess you have found out by now that you will do what the Air Force wants you to do, go where they want you to go - when they want you to go there.
What? You thought the military was like college? HA!

Since I was in the Navy, not the Air Force, I'm not sure how hard it is to get those jobs, but I *do* know that how hard it is to get into a certain field is determined by many factors. Usually it's determined by:
-How many people are already doing that job
-How many spaces the Air Force allocated for that job
-How full the school is when you would go
-The minimum ASVAB score needed to qualify for that job
-If there's any other tests or qualifications you need in addition to the ASVAB
-If the Air Force really wants to spend the money to train you in that job
So I don't think the MSGT is necessarily jerking you around, he's just being honest.

Some jobs are hard to get in to. Sounds like you have done your homework and know what you want. Good for you. The problem is that others have also done this. Stand your ground and be patient. Get the job you want. Not just the job that is available.

If you are qualified for the jobs then fight (keep trying) them on it. You have every right to go for what you are wanting to do. If you want something you have to keep pushing for it in the military. The more you push the more they see how much you want it. Soon they will give the job to you just to get rid of your constant pushing. It's the way of military life. I have a disability, it's not too bad but they don't want to give me what I feel I should have so I keep on pushing over and over again until they finally give in.
Good luck to you.

perhaps in administraiton, like working in a payroll, or even food service! these really are not bad jobs! a lot depends on how you did in high school, and the aptitude tests they give! usually, recruiters try to line you up with a job they feel that can be productive for both you, and the military! i failed my physical years ago, but they would have given me job in adminstration, because ther was no!! way i would have qualified for being a pilot, or even a mechanic! good luck!

yes it is how I explain well is too much to say I have a friend that is an Air Traffic Controller and this people really do keep their jobs I mean to say is not a job that you do keep until you do retire or a go sick were you are no able to perform this job 100% well so is dificult to get that kind of job...Keep pushing and you will get the one that you do want...That attitud that you say you are going to get is not going to get you the job that you are applying for...Good luck!!!

IMO, yes, it sounds like they are. What the military is looking for are ground pounders, medics, and MPs. They will snag you about all the possibilities and then they will say exactly what they told you...nope, nothing except these MOSs that are offered right now.

I'm confused? What is so "hard to get" about financial management...? I think your supervisor is trying to sideline you.
