Is Iraq worth your child's life?

No. And it's not worth the lives of Iraqi children that have also been destroyed so somebody could try steal their oil.

This is a rather poor question because it assumes that this hypothetical child's life is in more danger in Iraq than if it were not in Iraq.

The leading cause of death last year for members of the US military was automobile accidents.

In fact - I suggest that you ponder this question: "Are you worth the life of a soldier?"

I guess the same question would apply to was America worth someones childs life? Or were any of the wars worth someone's life? Because of the people who faught and died we have the rights and priveledges that we do today. I hope we never forget this.

I have no children, so I cannot answer that question, and I doubt my answer would be what you want to hear anyway. HOWEVER, I can honestly say that spreading the freedom, the liberty that I have known these past nineteen years here at home is worth risking and even giving my life if it comes right down to it... anywhere. And that includes Iraq.

Iraq is not worth anything, but freedom is. Without it, no life is worthwhile. So, are you asking if Iraqi children are less important than American children or whether tyranny is good?

The children in Irag deserve a free society without oppression. Freedom is more valuable than gold or oil. That is why so many wars have been fought to attain it.

Having cousins that have left family to go to Iraq I may have different opinions. I think that yea, its good to fight for our country but, don't leave your family here worrying about you. There are so may chances in Iraq that you could be in the middle of writting a letter to your kids and the next thing you know... you will never see them again. I think that you should stay here and enjoy life with your family. You could be a trainer or work at one of the bases by your house. Just my opinion. Good Luck and God Bless

Thats up to my child. Since he is an adult, he makes his own decisions as to whether or not he thinks its worth his life. NO parent wants to see their child die whether it be war, disease, car accident or whatever. But if we all took the same idea that we cannot accept our children going off to war then we wouldnt be here right now. I went, my father didn't like his son going to war but he understood that I had to do what I thought was right and he never said anything derogitory about it.

Yes and the life of you, your children, your parents and everyone else. People in the military are proud to serve even though you won't serve. We keep this country safe so people like you don't have to worry when your head might be cut off. It's so sad that you feel the way you do. If you had the balls to join the military, you might better understand.

I don't think you have accepted your child is old enough to think for him/herself and is no longer tied to your apron strings.

He/she knows that their life is on the line but they are trained professionals

well if your child is serving in the military, I think it was and is your child's choice that they made by joining, or being in the military.
