Warm water and a rag works best! Tried and true. Start at an edge and soak the wallpaper, then use a scraper and scrape it off. You may be able to start it with a scraper and then pull big chunks off. The wetter the better the paper comes off. Then wash down the wall before appying any paint. Good luck.

In my past experience i had to remove wall paper that was approx 30yrs old. All I did was fill a spray bottle wit water & vinegar, saturate a small area and then scrap off while wet with a putty knife. Also it is safe, no chemicals.

I have had to take down alot of wall paper and I to had kids so I used warm water in a spray bottle , it worked great and with the heat on this time of year it helped with moisture as well. Just spray some on wait a second and take like a rubber scrapper and scrap lightly , spray water as needed , you do not need to use alot of water to do this.

steam is the answer.......home depot or lowes either one will have a small lightweight, easy to use steam machine made for wallpaper removal, around 50 bucks and well worth it. you put hot water in it, let it heat up even hotter and go to work....minimal scraping will be required.
