I'm not sure who you are talking about but why shouldn't Christians have the best in this life as well as other rich people of this world? Why do people assume that God wants His people "poor" and why do people have a problem with rich Christians? Some televangelists may be rich but there are others that are not. Just as there are some business men that are rich and others that are not. The Word says I wish that you would PROSPER.......does that sound like poverty to you? As long as they maintain their spiritual integrity in handling the Word of God and finances - there is nothing wrong with being a rich Christian preacher. Most preachers (including televangelists) are on some sort of salary or pay scale that is overseen by a board of some sort. If he lives within the means of his appointed salary then he is doing nothing wrong. God gives His people all things richly to enjoy (scripture).

They are working for them selves it,s ashamed that people can,t see through it these preachers have a gift the gift of influence and they are using it along with people.s ignorance about what God,s word is for us and they are making a killing on it I just wish I could speak like them what a gig a lot of these people think that they can buy there way into heaven this is what happens when you can,t think for your self you could not pay one of these preachers to stand up and tell the truth about what the bible really says like about homosexuals because the church is full of them and they are paying the preachers hush money so the devil is working from the inside out

There are some, (a very few) working for God; then the rest - for themselves. The good ones have reached a large number of people and spread the word.

I agree with you about the presumptuous consumption of so many of the "televangelists"... but there are some... but I do not know who... but there must be some... who are for real... but if you have a question concerning The True Christian Faith I would not ask any that I have seen... ask one of God's people who is struggling like yourself but who dose know The Way, The Truth, and The Life.... I am of The True Christian Faith and I do not know it all for sure... but if you do have a question I will be glad to try and help.... I respond to all honest email questions.

I think the majority use God as a means to get rich, but I believe that some really do have a love of God and want to help people.

It depends on the individual evangelist. Some are outright frauds, some are committed to God but misguided, and some are as genuine as you could hope to find. A list of examples below:
1.) Outright frauds: Tartuffe (read Moliere), Elmer Gantry, Peter Popoff
2.) Misguided: Jim Bakker, Ted Haggard. They started out believing but fell for worldly trappings.
3.) Genuine: Billy Graham. Need I say more?

It does sort of violate the "give all you have and follow me" principle, doesn't it?

Will either way it's not neccessarily good. Even Jesus didn't work for God, He worked with Him. But also God is the richest person ever and He wants His sons and daughters to be rich as well.

The litmus test for these public persons is to ask who is being glorified by their actions, God or man? Some will fail this test, others, like Billy Graham, will not.

They sure don't follow the example set by the guy they're making millions on. It's all about the bucks, baby.
