I went to the laundromat to wash my clothes & one of the employees almost didn't let me get any quarters to wash clothes, & then, she finally let me get the quarters & she started asking me personal questions & observing every movement I made, & then, she asked me, "Can I have $3.25 to get me a 2-piece dinner from the Chinese food place because this is my 1st week here, & my husband is supposed to be giving me some money & I'll pay you back Sunday."

Me, personally, I have problems with assertiveness & standing up for myself, & saying NO because in the past, I've been assertive with situations with people asking me for money & I almost lost my whole mouth full of teeth, & I don't want to lose my teeth.

Well Candy, you can't live in fear of getting your teeth knocked out for the restof your life.

You know the answer to the question is "no"- of course she's not supposed to ask.

If you know and trust this woman it's one thing, but if not, you can kindly say "I'm sorry, money is tight for me too right now, maybe you can try someone else".. (as opposed to "what do I look like, a ******' bank?!".

As you get older and more time goes y from the time you almost lost all your teeth, you will come to realized that being a little assertive, or at least not being taken advantage of- will spare you a lot of grief and make life easier.

I'm not saying don't have compassion for people, but especially monetary donations should be on your terms, and not when you're just trying to do your wash.

If I were the owner of that place, I'd fire her. I worked in jobs where many folks tipped, some didn't. I made it a point to never ask for a tip, and give the same good service to all.

I suspect that this woman was asking you as a friend because she doesn't have any friends in your area to ask. That's a whole new ball game. So, you gave her the money. Not a big amount. Who knows? She just might surprise you and pay you back.............If she doesn't, and if she asks for more later, you can tell her that you can't loan her any more because she still owes you money.

Well you could find another laundromat or you could inform her employer of her behavior. She is rude, rude, rude. If I wanted to ask someone for money (which I wouldn't do) I certainly would not start out by refusing to let them get quarters.

There is a good chance she won't be there next time you go if she acts that way.

She is out of her mind! I hope you told her no.

Tell the owner or manager what she did and that people get offended by these "favors". Let them also know that if this continues, the laundromat will lose lots of good customers.

you are able to, yet opportunities are high that the administrative has asked workers to make confident that scholars are not loitering around the shop. you assert that human beings bypass there after college lots. i'm guessing that they don't oftentimes bypass in on my own (or in very small and quiet communities), purchase an merchandise, and are out and rancid the valuables returned interior 5 minutes. If community individuals *****, or shoppers start up heading off the shop because of the fact of adolescents "stunning out," the business enterprise can ask you to bypass. it could additionally be that the toddlers out of your college have been shoplifting (perchance they even have somebody who seems such as you on digital camera swiping something). in spite of everything, your leaving and then immediately returning became actually unusual habit and that i'm not shocked that it caught a clerk's interest. next time you're able to purchase something, bypass do it your self. you do not could convey a chum in. additionally, particularly than snapping, "i'm not stunning out" and combing previous him, you will have mentioned, "i could purchase call of Product." Had you performed that, he probable might have left you on my own or presented which will assist you detect it.
