Very few the figures for 2001 were 3.but I cant say for 10 yrs.The Home Office do publish annual figures.Just do a search on Deaths in police custody and you will get a complete breakdown.Unfortunately ambulance service and hospitals refuse to take people who are intoxicated and the police are left with prisoners who are incapable of looking after themselves and a police officer can only do regular checks not sit with them until they sober up.This accounts for most deaths in custody .

Not as many as you'd think, and the vast majority are where someone has come in with an undisclosed medical condition, or they commit suicide.

i don't have an exact answer but too many in my opinion i can recall 10 cases in the UK that were in the media last year god only knows how many more go unreported by the media
