There is no digestible sugar in diet soft drinks. There's artificial sweeteners like Equal or Splenda(which is a sweetener derived from a sucrose but with an added molecule of chlorine which renders it indigestible by the body)
I like Diet Dr. Pepper, Diet Cherry coke, and Diet Coke with Lime.

Diet sodas tend to be sweetened with artificial sweeteners, not sugar. However it's really a toss up because artificial sweeteners can be bad for your liver, especially in large quantities. If you want to cut down on sugars i'd suggest cutting out carbonated drinks completely. They all have things you don't need in them and they aren't good for the body. They are even worse if you are female because amoung other things, they prevent your bones from properly absorbing calcium. That leaves you even more open for osteperosis later in life to the point of so many older women that their spines begin curling and they become huntch backed. While sugar is sugar, natural is really the best. If you want the totally healthy way, only eat foods that the sugar is there naturally instead of as an additive, and keep it in moderation.

There isn't sugar is diet soda. There is either aspartame, Splenda or saccharin.
Honestly, I think the best tasting diet soda is Ginger ale because it tastes the same as non-diet. But you have to like ginger ale in the first place. Fresca is pretty good too, because it is fruit flavoured...grapefruit to be exact, but it's sweet, rather than sour.

The best tasting diet cola is Coke Zero but it (like Diet Coke) has aspartame in it which turns to formaldehyde in your body and affects your brain and memory. The new Coke Life has a lot less cane sugar and it has Stevia which is good for diabetics. Plus it has no aspartame. Name your poison... I am thinking of switching to Coke Life since I am diabetic. But my diabetes is under control so I think a little sugar is not as bad as the aspartame.

Have you thought about low-carb as well as low or no sugar in your soft drinks? Monster energy drink in the blue label lo-carb edition tastes great unedited or is a great mix with Jack Daniels, vodka or other alcohol additives.
