Has anyone used watchs wih GPS on them are they any good for finding out how far you have run

My preference is using the Garmin Forerunner watch. It's a great training tool and the GPS is surprisingly accurate. I use it in my training & races. You can use it set pace alarms, interval lengths, etc... And you even download the data to your computer. It's a neat gadget. Check out the product review below. Best of luck. Happy running!

Knowing how far you run isn't neccessarily important. Instead you should base your work on how long you go running. I generally go for 45 min to 1 hour. If you really want to know they do work well.

I have the Garmin 201. It works great for measuring distances!
