I meet someone new and after 10 min. when I found out where she comes, what she does, why is she there, so on... I really can't come up with something that would break the ice or get us somewhere... it's getting annoying, because I lost some pretty ladies that way. I'm not a smooth talker neither a small talker.

hate to break it to ya but the thing is that if you didnt click and the pretty lady has nothing in common with you then there is nothing else you can do. If you two were good together then the conversation would just flow on its own and you wouldnt have to force it or make it up. I have gone out with plenty of guys who I had nothing in common with but the conversation either flew or it didnt and when it didnt that was a sign to stop going on dates with that particular guy. =)

Ask more questions about the things you are already asking.
When she says she is from Washington D.C. - you then ask, how long hse's lived there, does she have family from there, does she like it there, you would love to visit there, are there any interesting sites to see when in Washington D.C., how's the party scene there, does she enjoy the night life there, etc. If she doesn't resume a full length conversation just from those questions, then she is pretty bland and boring or not interested in you.

Just keep asking quetions about her, and when she answers ask a follow-up question about her answer.

She will think your very nice and interested in her...girls love talking about themselves, so keep her yapping away! Good luck.
