Like can Pumpkin into a cake mix?

2007-03-03 05:20:14 · 6 answers · asked by Anonymous in Food & Drink Cooking & Recipes

I want to add can pumpkin into a certain flavor cake mix to make muffins. I know the flavors would work together...but do I change anything about the prep work rather then follow the directions on the box?

Any time you want to add anything "wet" to a cake mix....all you have to do is substitute what you are adding in equal amounts of what Liquids are required on the box(example...oil...water....milk...)this does not include the eggs...they are always needed.

Good Luck ....and Good Eats!

Yup although if you have a can of pumpkin you might just want to mix something up from scratch if you have the basics (flour, baking soda, sugar, butter or margerine, spices and depending what you are making eggs). I have a few great recipes, as I'm a pumpkin fan.

The problem with just adding to a mix is you will be guessing at what to leave out, what in. Wish you answered the other person who asked what you are making. I have a yummy, super easy pumpkin cookie recipe that is very cakey but surprisingly no eggs. Easy to whip up too.

If you want the recipe just let me know....they are great and easy to make. I've added stuff to cake mixes and while you'll be ok, usually the texture is off just a bit etc.

Yes you can add pumpkin to your cake mix
I would just cut the amount of oil in half since pumpkin is
very moist

Yes you can, you just need to decrease the wet like omit both the oil and water
