I mean this seriously, not as a joke, if you say you are pro-life, do you justify eating eggs because of Genesis 1, which states in the KJV that you have dominion over the animals?

Does God not have a plan for each chicken?

--------------

Serious question,

Animal rights, how do we balance the rights of the chicken eggs' with our need to eat protien?

ROTFLMBO...Jim, omg, I cannot stop laughing...not only do I eat the eggs and bacon (which comes from a different animal)...I also eat the chicken meat. Sorry to our vegans...I have no problem with you or with animal rights.

Perhaps it is because I can tell the difference in value of a human life and an animals' life.

One has a much higher capacity for learning then the other.

We have "Dominion over the Earth" and all things thereupon.

That is a responsibility.

Neither the egg nor the chicken know that they have or have lost anything called "Rights"

Right after the flood. God instilled a natural fear of man into the animals and told Noah, that from that point on, the animals would be meat for us. Only certain ones though. In the New Testament, We are told that we can eatall of the animals. Since when do animals have any rights? Weare given Stewardship over them, and don't have the right to be mean to them. But if they taste good, pass the salt!!

Sure God has a plan for the chicken. Often the purpose of that chicken is for our own sustenance.
And I mean that, too.
Killing animals, especially for our own eating, is nothing compared to killing other human beings. Now if we tortured an animal (besides the normal slaughter), that's wrong. I think God would hold us accountable for that.
Christ ate fish for sure. And probably lamb, etc. So he wasn't a vegetarian. I figure if he eats it, it's OK for me to eat it, too.

There are plenty of plant-based sources of protein. I suggest you take a nutrition class. I cook for vegans all the time and am quite good at it. Not a one is undernourished. (I, however, am underweight by 10 pounds because I'm a picky eater.)

I do eat meat, but only purchase it from very small producers. This allows me to SEE the conditions the animals are raised in before I have 'em killed off for my leather jackets, boots, steaks, roasts and fajita meat.

I do not, however, eat poultry or eggs except during turkey-hunting season. I have never seen a poultry producer who ran a decent operation, even if it was 'free-range'. The conditions are deplorable.

Mark Twain wrote a great account in his Diary of Eve, where Eve comes across a lion, before the fall of man. The poor thing is suffering so she examines it. It has a head of lettuce jammed in it's throat so she grabs a broom and "rams it home." As she's looking in the lion's mouth, she is startled to see teeth that APPEAR to be designed to chew meat! Before the fall, this made no sense! All was at peace and there was no death, so this poor carnivore was stuggling to be a vegetarian.

All food is good for consumption. Lions eat deer. Snakes eat rodents. Humans eat chickens. Israelites sacrificed animals.

Yes, we have dominion over them.

One shouldn't seriously advance the postulation that chickens are scentient beings in need of salvation.

You're saying that if I want to enjoy a good omelet, I have to be willing to murder human babies?

I'm sorry, I know you think this isn't a joke, but how can we take you seriously? Is it that easy for you to look for excuses to justify the ruthless extermination of helpless babies?

Killing a chicken? Maybe the egg wasn't fertile, so no chicken is killed, but that PIG certainly was treated unfairly, now, wasn't IT? (*o*)
