yup, I was pretty proud of myself too. I was living in Japan and liked sushi a lot. The best place to get good cheap sushi was a take-away place and I learned enough Japanese to pre-order my favorites over the phone, and I got exactly what I asked for.

My friend and I stumbled on a waitress in Quebec who was fluent in English, French and Esperanto.
He bet me that I couldn't place a proper order in French (naturally he was French).
I bet him that if he gave me 10 minutes, I could teach him to place a proper order in Esperanto.
We both lost and she got a $20 tip.
Worth every penny!

Yes, of course I have, maybe once for something simple. Chinese people, even in Canada, like to order food in chinese resturants in chinese all zee time.
