Description McDonlad wrote that no alcohol is used in Turmeric Extract so it is a Halal ingredient in the fish fillet coating. But we are still waiting for answers about the Halal status of Whey and Natural Fllavor in the coating.

I don't know for sure, but I assume that turmeric "extract" used in food like that just means that it's a concentrated version of the spice turmeric. I've never heard of a "Turmeric Extract" being sold like Vanilla Extract, Almond Extract, Mint Extract, etc.

At any rate, I assume that if you're eating something dry like pretezels, any alcohol that may have ever been present when the extraction was done would be evaporated and be long gone if the food is dry.

EDITED TO ADD:

I just googled "turmeric extract" and found it used in a lot of supplements, etc., for it's healthful effects. I didn't read a lot, but they also seem to be dry (in capsules, etc.)

Btw, if you look up more about turmeric, be sure to spell it correctly to get the best search results... many people spell it without the r, but the correct spelling is tuRmeric with an r ...
