i remember hearing in a documentary that bin larden and the other terrorists where over whelmed by what happened thus meaning that they did not expect the towers to fall
the twin towers eventually gave way because of the intense heat caused by the fuel from which the air craft was carrying that caught fire liquidising the steel supports

You are laboring under the impression that everything went just the way "they" planned it, which seems at this point to be highly unlikely. While it was horrific in scope, they failed to meet their objective of "bringing down the Great Satan".
The goal of a terrorist act is to cause terror and intimidate the target into surrender. Have you surrendered? I can only hope not...

They didn't. They just planned the attack and whatever collateral damage it caused was a bonus. Reportedly, they were hoping that the tops of the WTC buildings would fall off, doing far more damage than the collapses did.

It don'[t take a genius to figure out that crashing a plane into a building will do some damage. I doubt that they knew that the buildings would colapse.
