Yes, God is perfect. Humans are not because of sin entering the world when Adam and Eve sinned.

Originally, humans were created perfect and they were given only one law along with a warning about the consequences for disobeying this law. When they disobeyed, they altered their genetic makeup to allow for death and imperfection. Because like produces like, this meant that all of their offspring would also be imperfect. God, lovingly, provided an escape from imperfection for any person who would choose to follow his son, Jesus Christ as their ancestor rather than Adam. Genesis 3:15 tells this prophecy and the entire Bible explains how God will carry out his purpose for man and the earth by means of it's fulfillment.

If you put light and dark together and good and evil and up and down.& etc. then everything IS perfect.BUT when you separate it all, so we can learn . then things get complicated OK?
But we can be perfect, by asking of the spirit within us, listening.and doing gods will.I wish you could have met my Grandfather Ballew and my mother.we can acchieve an amount of perfection if we allow the spirit of God to guide us.But of course that takes effort is why so many have the devil in them.
I wish you the best on your spiritual journey.

Free will. God created an environment that will support us not control us against our wills. Humans chose to be imperfect for the opportunity to obtain knowledge we were not mature enough to handle at the time.

Yes, God our Heavenly Father is perfect...it didn't happen overnight, He was once as we are now, gained exaltation, godhood and achieved perfection.
We, as His children have not made all the necessary steps YET to attain perfection, which, YES! can be attained!
It is part of our Heavenly Father's plan for us, his children, to come to earth (which we chose to do in our premortal existance with Him) to gain a body, to have mortal experiences, to prove ourselves worthy to re-enter His presence and to learn to become like Him.
If you want to know more, email me or go to LDS.org or mormon.org or speak with some local missionaries!
Good luck.

God wants to be worshiped. Therefore he created inferior imperfect beings (humans) who would be dumb enough to worship him.

He gives us freedom to choose between good and evil.
We can be perfect.
When you repent of your sins, you are perfect, until you sin again.
