It is one thing for you to want your child to be a model, and another thing if your child wants to be a model. My parents made me and my siblings be models when we were children, but none of us wanted to do it. I suggest that you don't force your child to model if she/he does not enjoy it.
If you do decide to have your child become a model, avoid pageants where the children are made up as sex objects, and instead, consider a more respectable type of modeling like photo shoots for Parenting Magazine, or other such things.

I don't think you should force modeling on your child at such a young age. If she gets older and that's what she wants to do, you shouldn't discourage her, but you shouldn't throw her into the limelight either. I mean look what happened to Lindsay Lohan and the Olsen twins. You wouldn't want her to get wrapped up in that world, would you? The best thing you can do for her right now is let her live her childhood as a kid, not a little 21 year old like JonBenet Ramsey. I really hope you reconsider your decision.

I had the same thoughts about my 17 month old son, when he was about 9 months, and everyone (even complete strangers) were always suggesting he get into modeling. My husband and I actually looked into it and contacted an agency... and there is just so much involved, and you'd be putting your child through a lot of time consuming stuff - like make up, training, long photo shoots under hot lights, ect... we decided to just let our little guy be a regular adorable baby/toddler, and not expose him to all that.

Do this only if you have a lot of free time and you can take rejection in your stride. Find the addresses of all the producers of AD films makers in your city and post 3 to 5 postcard pictures of your child to each. Do not forget to add your contact details on the back of each photo.
Please remember film producers have a different agenda from yours. Love and affection for your child should be yours.

When child grow to an understandable age, create interest in modelling activities, what you intend them to be. First develop positive attitude, explaining how name, fame and benefits acquired by choosing modelling as a profession. Then prepare her to face the facts and how difficult to reach the goal. She will be prepared psychologically strong to fulfil your expectations.
