I should have put it in sooner but didn't. It needs to be done before my boyfriend goes to work at four. I put it in at 9am (One hour ago) and have it on high now. Should I leave it on high or put it on low? Or leave it on high for a little bit then turn it down? I don't want it to burn on high, but want it nice and tender.

Leave it on high. Did you add a little water? Not too much, 'cause you want it to be juicy. Check it at 1:00 to see if it's done.

These things are sent to test us !

Personally, I'd turn it down a touch then turn it up nearer the end.

I always think if you cook a pot roast on too high a heat at the beginning then the meat goes into shock at the high heat and tightens up.

Silly I know!

Anyway - 7 hours wll be fine and I'm sure it will be lovely!

Tomorrow, whilst my husband is at work I am going to make a beef & pork meatloaf..yum yum!
