You can't do anything about it. Men need their space and they have to come to a decision on their own. There's no point putting pressure on him to do something if he's not interested.
What was the letter all about? Why the urgent need for him to reply you. You didn't give much info. If he chooses not to contact you, then leave it. Find another man!

Depends what you wrote - send him a follow up note in case the letter was misplaced asking him to meet you for a coffee then order a large cappuccino and sit in wait.

I think you could allow yourself another letter without shaming yourself too much! Just say that you are checking he got your letter. You have nothing to lose and if he doesn't make contact then, you can consider the matter closed and move on.
He may not have received it fo a multitude of reasons and may be waiting for you to contact him!

You can't. You tried, you have to wait and see if you get a response, if you don't, move on. Guys don't like to continually be contacted. You try, no response...keep moving. Bugging him won't get you anywhere. Try acting like you dont care one way or the other, that gets their attention more than anything!

Don't. He will or he won't. If he's going to reply he'll probably take a while anyway, plucking up courage or just taking his time getting round to it.
Don't bother him, if he doesn't reply move on.

Im not sure if you can encourage him to write, maybe you should write again just incase he actually didnt receive the last letter! then if he doesn't reply then he obvioulsy isn't interested!

leave yourself with some dignity.. if he hasnt replied he is either playing this waiting game ( usually called the 3 day rule) which men do, or he aint interested in which he is not worth it!!

i tried that. just give up if he hasn't replied in a week because he rejected you if he did not reply. sorry but others will come !!! not as good as him though but keep trying!!
