I guess this is what has happened to you. I guess you are feeling that you wish that he was a bit more possessive? Then I guess maybe this is not the guy for you, because if he is the kind of guy that allows you total freedom, then you may start doing things to make him more possessive.
On another note, there maybe a reason why he is giving you complete freedom. He might not care about you as much as you do him, or he might want you to be doing things, while he is doing things. However, if you dont have more evidence, I would not pursue this theory.
Sometimes people dont talk about the boundaries they expect in a relationship. Maybe you should have a talk with him and figure out what you and he think are acceptable and unacceptable behavior. This will give you a better idea of how much freedom you really have. Good Luck!

it's nice..nobody likes to be controlled. (and if you do you need help)...but then there are those times you wish they'd get jealous or question you just to reiterate that they dO care :) but trust is great; that'll make or break a relationship. so just be glad you have it!!
