To make this short and specific, every voice is diiferent but everyone can sing, and as you said the problem is that they don't know the breathing tecniques which are ESSENTIAL when singing and without them the singing is very bad and of "low quality". An example is Ashlee Simpson she has a rough voice but surely has very present the singing tecnique. Everyone has a voice and obviously every voice is different whether sopranos, etc but everyone has a voice. I'm telling you this because I take singing lessons from a person that sings opera and in the 2 years I've been studing with him he has showed me this.
Nice question. Wish you luck!!

No. Anyone can sing, but some can't make it sound good no matter how hard they try. On the other hand, there are others who have always been good singers and worked to improve even further and succeeded.
I honestly think that singing can be inherited, but it also depends on how strong their vocal chords and lungs are to support their voice. My aunt, uncle, and cousins on my mom's side are wonderful singers (three of my cousins have toured with Ernie Hass & Signiature Sound), but on my dad's side it's only my grandma, and aunt.
My mom & dad both sing (mom can't sing as well as she did, she got a really bad case of pnemonia a while back and her voice isn't as strong anymore). My sister and I can both sing, as well, but our voices are really different. She can sing a little lower than I can, but we can sing about the same range. I think that my voice is stronger and clearer than hers, but I'm not really sure.

It all depends on the confidence you have in yourself or how the song makes you feel. You may not be able to "carry a tune in a bucket" but if you feel the song, I mean really feel the song and it has some sentimental value to you then you can sing from the heart and let it all out. Music is such a great way to express how you feel so why not indulge in a song that you are somewhat connected to and sing your heart out?

No, just as some people will never run a 4 minute mile no matter how much they train, some people simply sing poorly.
