Bad in what way? Some salvia is used for spices and some used for the scents. Salvia d. is reportedly used for narcotic/hallusianic purposes that may get it banned for those purposes.

Bad for what? bad to eat? bad to grow?
Salvia covers a large group of plants. Some ornamental, some culinary, some medicinal. Some are all three. What is the source of your Q. Specify, please. I don't know of any thing "bad" about any member of the group.

Depends upon the type. Some are used for fragrance and for herbal properties.
