Everytime I'm trying to say something, this person constantly interrupts me and asks questions and jumps to conclusions practically finishing my sentences and changes the subject. It's never what I was going to say. I get soo annoyed I never even get to finish what I'm saying!

Depends. Do you want to be polite and tactful, or get the message across instantly and leave no doubt as to your intentions?

Tactful:

"Please stop interrupting."

Instantly effective:

"STFU ******!"

The choice is all yours.

I have a family member who constantly interrupts people, usually to change the subject to something that involves her. I'm used to it -- she's always been that way, and so was her mother -- so it really doesn't bother me. It makes my husband crackers, though! I know she doesn't do it to be rude; she just doesn't think about what she's doing, and is so anxious to get out what she wants to say that she talks right over people.

Obviously, though, you have a problem with this interrupter (which is perfectly okay!). I think it would be fine for you to say, "Whoa! Hey. I was talking!", or continue to talk and hold up your hand to see if they get the point and be quiet. My husband (the guy who hates when people interrupt HIM) interrupts me all the time, and that's the treatment he gets. Same situation -- he just thinks that what he has to say might be more important, so he "helps" me finish what I was going to say, and moves on to something that involves him.

I think everyone is guilty of this at one point or another, but to have it happen all the time can make a person batty. Maybe, in a jestful tone, say "Sheesh! Can't you wait till I'm finished?". If you aren't really close to this person, though, and they might take offence, then try being upfront with them, and tell them that you've noticed that it's hard to hold down a conversation with them because they're always talking over you. Chances are, they don't realize they're doing it. If they say, "What? No, I don't!", let it go, but constantly point out whenever they do it until they stop. That'll learn 'em.

Good luck!

Keep talking about whatever you want to..... Even if you change the subject. Don't try to interrupt that person because they will only think you're being rude.

You simply say,"Excuse me,but were you raised in a barn? Please don't show your rudeness by interrupting others .Now, wait till they finish speaking before you offer YOUR opinion on the matter.Be prepared to defend yourself because ignorant people usually think they can solve things thru violence.

Tell them this joke.

You: Knock Knock
Them: Who's there?
You: The always interrupting sheep.
Them: The always int-
You: Baaaa!

From that point on, just say 'baa' every time they interrupt you. They'll soon stop.

I recommend a ballgag. They can be purchased at most 'adult' bookstores.

Saying something won't help since they never let you finish your sentences, so don't bother with words. Go straight for action!

If you can't afford the ballgag, you could always walk away in the middle of one of their sentences. Rude, but surprisingly effective.

Tell them not to interrupt you! If that doesn't work, don't speak to them anymore.

Say (sternly) "Please, let me just finish." You can still come across as the polite one and they are made aware they are being rude! Don't reward bad behavior by letting them get away w/ it.
