Statistically, yes indeed. While you can always find one or two folks who achieved only a High School diploma who went on to make millions, a college degree will always command a higher entry-level salary to any career path, and since wage increases tend to be percentage-based rather than dollar-based, folks with a degree almost always make more money, and faster, than those without.

Typical starting salary for HS grads is 23K

Typical starting salary for those with a Bachelor's degree is 41K



But never forget that the rich usually get rich by "not spending money", not by making more.

Someone who earns $23K, lives on $18,400, and invests the 20% difference for 40 years earning the average historic market return will have around $4.7Million (!) by age 60, even if their paycheck never goes up by a penny!

Someone who earns $41K and spends $42K a year (sadly a very typical & average person today!) will leave their kids with a big empty house & a lot of debt.

Depends on the major. Some bachelor degrees will pay a heaping 5 figure income easy. Masters even better. 6 figure.
