Yes, the abortion is within itself wrong...
But the bigger picture is in the fact that at the moment you decide to have an abortion...you are taking the matter out of God's control and putting it into your control...and that is where you fall very short....
I am a Christian woman...and have learned that there is so much more that thinking selfishly of how or why you would have an abortion...
I have had two...and I did it before I knew God the way I do now...
I suffered more because I did it...than I would have if I had just had the baby....
It nags me that I contributed to that system of thought...
It hurts me that I consciously took control of God's situation...
And I hurt that I helped people think it is o.k. because I did it too...
So, to remove selfishness...I see that thinking it is o.k. is the devils way of tricking us into his method of genocide and population control....
I hope that helps...
The devil always came to kill babies in the Bible...in hopes of killing the one life that may be an answer to a change or fighter coming from God....Look at the story of Moses...and Jesus....

the spiritual condition of man is at the root of the abortion issue. Until man's spiritual condition is changed by the power of Jesus Christ, we will not find a full solution to this problem. It is sin that produces the problem of most unwanted pregnancies, as well as all the other disorders which plague the human race. It is also sin which produces the misbelief that women have a "right" to take the lives of unborn babies. The apostle Paul writes, "The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like" (Galatians 5:19-21a).
Life is sacred, and we must seek to protect all human life: the unborn, the child, the adult, and the aged. Several Bible passages tell of the sacredness of life and speak to the subject of abortion. They include Exodus 20:13, 21:22, 23:7; Job 10:8-12; Psalms 22:10, 51:5, 127:3, 139:13-16; Isaiah 44:1-2, 49:5; and Jeremiah 1:4-5. From a medical point of view, in the words of a physician, "The ultimate scientific fact that all must face and deal with is that nothing, no bits and pieces, will be added to this living human being from the time of fertilization until the old man dies—nothing except nutrition. Each of us existed in toto at that moment. All that we have done since then is to mature."
Since the Supreme Court removed restrictions on abortion in 1973 abortions have risen to an incredible figure of over 1.5 million each year in the United States. Mr. Graham strongly opposes "abortion on demand" and was instrumental in the founding of the ministry of Care Net, which is the largest evangelical network of crisis pregnancy centers. Care Net seeks to provide the most accessible and effective abortion alternatives possible. For a discussion on the alternatives to an unwanted pregnancy, you may contact Care Net at 1-800-395-HELP. For additional help and literature on abortion, contact the Christian Medical and Dental Associations, P. O. Box 7500, Bristol, Tennessee 37621; telephone: (423) 844-1000. A book which may be helpful to you is "Abortion: A Rational Look at an Emotional Issue" by R. C. Sproul. It is available at most Christian bookstores.

Abortion is murder, and Christians are not supposed to murder.
Most abortions are the result of adultery, another sin. In these cases women commit murder to cover up another sin...
Sa for Black Dragon's laughable assertion that spontaneous abortion is the same as the infanticide that occurs in abortion clinics, he is showing that he is not capable of understanding the difference between deliberate killing and natural death, or maybe he understands yet chooses to be dishonest. He is the type who will make up any lie to justify evil.

It is a sin:

However, you don't have to be a Christian to know that killing innocent human beings is wrong. By the time most women know they are pregnant (just 3 weeks after conception), their baby's heart is already beating. Virtually no abortions are committed before 6-7 weeks, at which point the baby has tiny fingers and recordable brain waves.

By the way, many Christian women are unknowingly aborting their babies early in pregnancy by using hormonal methods of birth control such as the Pill or Depo-Provera. All hormonal methods of birth control work in three ways:
1. By attempting to prevent ovulation (the release of an egg)
2. By thickening cervical mucus, which may prevent sperm from reaching the egg
3. By changing the lining of the womb to prevent a newly conceived human being from implanting in the womb, causing his or her death at 5-9 days old.

Christian, as well as other women of faith have abortions all the time.
For those who say all abortion is murder, please look at the link below.
So how many women have you unthinkingly called murderers?
To abdulnono...: If you bothered to pay attention to what I wrote, it says to those who say all abortion is murder...................... Spontaneous Abortion is the clinical term for miscarriage. What my statement was in fact saying was, to use the blanket "All abortion is murder" is a bit naive. I'll not stoop to your level by calling you names.
If you mean consciously done abortion, say consciously done abortion. Using a word that has more than one meaning only in a way that favors your cause is dishonest. Do you know what the clinical definition of abortion says?, I do.
By the way, do you happen to know my stance on abortion?
So, why not let each woman decide for themselves?
What is it with all the guys who do not know the physical, mental and emotion changes that being pregnant, or having an abortion make on a woman doing even venturing to decide if women should have or not have an abortion? Let each woman decide for herself, everyone else needs to just shut the hell up.

Any woman can have an abortion. It's one of the sad truths about our society. Knowing that GOD is life and love and joy, and that he is a living God existing in all things. From the smallest atom to the mightiest planet, from the tinniest of insects to the largest of the whales in the sea.
Knowing also that my hope for eternal life rests in the hands of a loving but vengeful God. Well, rests in my own hands really. But I will have to kneel before GOD and be judged for my actions. GOD is life, life is GOD!
To kneel before him knowing you had taken a life, and hoping that he is more of a forgiving God than a vengeful one, is taken a big chance, and an eternity without GOD's love is indeed a long time.
