If we have to have an operation the surgeons work in sterile conditions with masks gowns ect. so that it limits the risk of infection. Why then don't Vets have to take so many precautions ? don't bugs get into animal's wounds and cause serious infections?

of corse things can still happen but the risk is greatly reduced by being sterile..would you want a doctor to operate on you with out gloves and masks and a clean environment?

Vets do take precautions and it is sterile I have just finished 3 weeks work experience with 2 different vets and assisted in cleaning beforehand it is done very well.

Vet's use the same sterile conditions that we have in our operating rooms. Infections can happen either place, doesn't matter what kind of operation is being performed.

They do take precautions for there saftey and the animals too since if they dont the animal will get worse but they tend to take better precautions on humans...but its o.k

they do as far as possible but if a large animal like a cow or a horse needs emergency surgery then they cant
