WOW that is almost like asking "Should I have a baby?" Dogs are a joy but also a responsibility. If you have your own home, a back yard, and are home more often than not then ya maybe. If you have hobbies and activities that involve the outdoors and being active (in other words being a couch potato or a computer geek will not be a good lifestyle for a dog) then again maybe....bottom line if you go out can your dog go with you and if not how long are you away from home...more than 6 or more hours at a time is too long if no one else is at home. So you can see where I am going with this...if the answer is yes to being a dog friendly owner then go for it ..enjoy and prepare for the best friend you ever had...(and treat him/her like a best friend, you won't be sorry)

Dogs are great pets. But you first need to decide what type
of dog suits your lifestyle and the place you live in. If you have
a house than you can choose any type of dog. But if you live
in an apartment than a smaller dog is best.

When you first buy a dog you should always take it to the vet
to be examined. Cause if there are any major problems with
the pet you can return it, or keep it and take care of it.

Pets don't cost alot to keep. Keeping them on good dog food
and giving them healthy treats, and making sure they have
some toys and maybe a bed is really all you need.

I have had dogs most of my life and I can't imagine what it would
be like not to have them. I don't have kids, so in a way they
are like my kids. I have three dogs and I would have more if
it was allowed. Where I live we can only have three.

I enjoy taking them to the park for walks, and it gets me out
even when I don't feel like it. I meet alot of people and they
really arn't hard to train either. The only time you need to go to
the vet is once a year to get their shots and something for flees
every year. But the cost is about $150.00 or less. Dogs are
loyal and it's great to come home after a long day and have
them waiting for you. Alot of other pets are great to, but dogs
are better companions. I hope I was helpful.

Dogs are marvelous companions and have proven to be therapudic to humans as well. But you should also consider the responsibility which comes with the adoption of a new animal. What breeds are you considering? The large dogs will, no doubt, be more expensive to feed, house and train. Read up on the various breeds of dog and learn all you can. Visit the animal shelters and maybe volunteer to help care for the dogs that are there. There are all kinds of these beautiful creatures, who, through no fault of their own, find themselves homeless and in need of people to love them.

Dogs are wonderful to have but a lot of responsibilty. You also need to figure out if you want a puppt or an adult and on what size bet fits your place. Check out the local pounds and shelters. If you do look for a healthy looking one. Coming from that sort of place they could be carring parvo disease which can be fatal.
Good luck to you. Dogs are wonderful animals and very faithful

Yes and no, I was hessitant 3 years ago, but I can tell you this is the best desition I've made.

If you think you have a short temper or are a easyly anger you might need to pass on the Dog.

Dog's are fun loving creatures and depending on the bread you might need to adapt to a different lifestyle.

Try to match your dog to your house, in the sense of size and your time disposition.

Dogs do make good pets. They're loyal and friendly. But you need to consider where it would sleep and the amount of space you have for it to pick the right breed.
