long as the stang has sub frame connectors, there is plenty of room and reinforcement. i think i drove my 5.0 with the seat back 2 notchs and reclined to the first position after normal. lots of leg room. im 5'10-11.

without subframe connectors, you'll bust the floor pan behind the seats as well as tweak the body if you make any power. my upper chrome strips around the windows looked like an s curve. they flared out just past the doorpost and went back in towards the front of the vehicle. i could bounce the front wheels off the ground if i stayed in first and just romped and let off about 3-4 times. hey that thing had to raise around 12-4 inches to get the wheels off the ground. my cousin todd rode in it often enough, he's a big man. just an old mercury with a chip or 2 in the paint.

The old muscle cars before the pony cars were Galaxies, Belvederes, and Impalas with behemoth motors. They were much larger cars. My son was 6'6"and 300 lbs and we built a Galaxie to fit.

Dodge charger R/T woud be a good choice. You could probably fit good inside of a new vette because they have a lot more room than they used to.
